Lessons on creativity.

You used to make things just because you wanted to see them exist. Drawings, dancing, stores… ideas that came out of nowhere. You didn’t wonder if your creations were “good,” you just wanted to make something that felt like you.

As you got older, the world started giving creativity rules. Creativity became something to manage, brand measure, commodify and somewhere in that noise, you learned that creating could earn attention. You considered that maybe if enough people noticed, you could earn respect. You wanted to prove that you could make something out of yourself in a world that was making you feel small.

The lined blurred when expression quietly turned into performance. Your creations became about defending your worth instead of discovering it. In reality, the more you tried to prove your freedom, the less free you actually felt.

Your creativity was never meant to convince anyone. Your creativity was always meant to remind you and serve as a mirror that shows you what curiosity could look like in color, shape and sound.

Make something that doesn’t need to be seen to be real. That’s where you’ll find yourself waiting.
